Remembering Grandma

Wire basket © Evelyn Howard 2011

My late Grandma made this basket. She came to visit us over 20 years ago, and asked my Mom to buy some wire for her to make a basket. With pliers, she twisted and turned the wire, added her magic and out came this basket. Mom said Grandma taught herself to make this. Pretty clever huh!

It was for eggs, but today, Mom is using it for clothes pegs.

yes, those days, our grandmas are very talented... no proper schools to teach them and yet....

Wonderful photograph. I like the sienna/yellow ochre more-or-less monochromatic color scheme and then off white. Good memories too. I like your word peg, for our word clothes pin.

Photos with a history are much more interesting!
I never met any of my grandmothers, they were not here anymore when I came.
Beautiful!
Have a good new week.

Now it is an heirloom.

My daughter is in Melbourne for the shopping. Young people, no commitment.

my grandma made quilts, I am the only grand daughter who knows how to make it because though at that time, I consider old fashion, I helped her make one .

Clever grandma! I need a new peg basket too. I bet I can't find one which will last as long as this one
