I hope that you are still enjoying my photos taken in Japan, as much as I enjoy sharing them with you. For me, it is like re-living the experience of the wonderful time I had in Japan.
Heian Shrine is another beautiful place in Japan. The main building is shown in the above photo. You may notice that the colour is slightly different from Chinese temples. In Japan, temples are an orangey shade of red.
A beautiful bridge across the lake at Heian Shrine. It was a hot and sunny day, and many people were on the bridge to enjoy the shade and to rest.
Beautiful trees around the lake are being propped up by sticks…
One of the props with water reflecting the surroundings
Another lovely bridge in a another beautiful part of the lake
There is a section planted with irises too. And some animals that call the lake their home.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

This looks like a romantic sanctuary! Great for wandering! Wonderful photos!
A nice place to relax, I just love it! Great shots too!
My husband and I were there. I recognize every scene...oh, such nice memories. I'll have to get out the photos we took and reminisce. Very beautiful, Evelyn.
Japanese gardens have such a nice design... Great picture indeed.
Bonjour dear friend,
Amazing set of pictures, this garden is so lovely and your pictures are wonderful, well done!

i'm loving your Japan photos. what a serene, romantic place. the trees by the lake are beautiful. thanks for sharing.
Lovely SB post, Evelyn. I did not visit Heian Shrine. I couldn't possibly tire from seeing these beautiful gardens and shrines. Although I could see that Kyoto could produce temple-hopping-fatigue for some, it would take me a looooong time.
I like the turtle swimming vertically. Great shot.
The Chinese buildings and the Japanese, are there any difference?
Absolutely superb.
I'm very much enjoying you photos of Japan! I'm sure even people who live in Kyoto fail to notice everything there, and it's always interesting to see what other people pick up :D
Lovely series of captures. Wonderful place to be.
What beautiful images, Evelyn - and a double bridge post as well!
«Louis» appreciates this fine contribution to Sunday Bridges.
