Kiyomizu-dera temple

This is a Buddhist temple in Kyoto. It’s main building is by the hillside, and it has a huge garden attached to it. It is part of the United World Heritage Site. It is on the top of my list of favourite places in Kyoto, but I haven’t got many photos unfortunately.

It was raining heavily when I was there. Over the green area, you can barely see Kyoto town…

You can definitely see the rain here!

A very green area of the garden with stones and lanterns.

A couple more photos but not taken at the temple…

Cloudy sky over the canal… The huge balconies belong to restaurants. These are popular places to hang-out to soak in the atmosphere during summer. We were there one evening – unfortunately, it was too touristy for our liking.

A guy having a nice quiet time and lots of space to himself in busy Kyoto.

Have a lovely weekend.

Wow, this is great! I hope I can visit Kyoto someday... I'll be cruising to Japan, end of this month but only in Naha and Ishigaki. Guess, it'll be hotter! Happy Friday!

The rain looks a lot like fog, doesn't it? And I love fog! But these images are so lovely!

Oh dear... quite different in the rain, isn't it? But that too is sky reality. And you made the best of it. Lovely green garden shot, Evelyn!
