It was a lovely warm day yesterday, and we took the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. While on the beach, I managed to complete this sketch. The Spirit of Tasmania is a ferry that goes to and fro Melbourne and Devonport (Tasmania).
While having lunch at a cafe by the beach, I spotted some bicycles close by. I started drawing this one. When I completed the front wheel, the owner came by and left with his bicycle. I had to finish the drawing from imagination. LOL, my husband says this looks like a cross between a old bicycle and an old motorcycle!
Anyway, I am glad this week’s Illustration Friday’s theme is “transportation”, coz I’ve just done 2 pieces :). Happy drawing.

I like this style a lot.
Great sketches ~ love the bicycle :)
Very nice line work. Great stuff.
You're such a talent! These sketches are amazing, lovely! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
Nice ink work with the colour spots!
Great sketches. you sure don't need a camera.
Nice work, Evelyn.
[So ignore my asking if you will, but I'd guessed from your posting so many Japan photos that you are of Japanese origin, but now I think perhaps Chinese. Makes little difference... but I thought it interesting that you confirmed what I'd said about Chinese-looking people getting razzed in China when they don't speak the language. Like your hubby, I get oohed and aahed all the time for my imperfect efforts. My hubby is fluent, though, in various dialects. :-) ]
Great work! Love your pieces!
Wonderful sketches Evelyn!! Perfect for that theme!
Beautiful!
Great sketches.
Hi Evelyn, I like your ferry and your bicycle- very nice drawings. I agree with your husbands comment- funny! Blessings! -Joe
Great memory, Evelyn! I also love the bag with bread and vegetables in the basket ;D
Very fine, Evelyn - you very nicely captured the ferry boat.
I love your drawings! And I love your motor/bike, lol. I would think that could happen when out and about. That your subject could vanish, lol.
Dear Evelyn,
Wow, both wonderful sketches. The landscape is so nice. The bike is heartwarming. Lovely!
Kind regards, Sadami
