Foam roller - a happy accident

A happy accident piece for Twenty Minute Challenge.

I think I was getting a little bit ahead of myself with a few initial, although small successes with watercolour. I was not patient with this piece… I did not wait for my paint to dry, so my colours started flowing into each other and in the case - luckily - it seemed to have worked :).

Note to self: I must be patient when working with watercolour.

A GREAT note to yourself!! What a FUN piece of art. Maybe your happy accident can be replicated on purpose next time.

@ N. JOE: Thanks Joe. It should have been done wet-on-wet in the first place, but that is not a style that I am used to. I am learning!

Dear Evelyn,
Wet-in-wet and texture are so beautiful! I call "calculated spontaneity" for willingly done happy accident. You are nearly there.
Cheers, Sadami

Don't you think a lot of art is happy accidents? And if so, can they be replicated? Sometimes I don't even know what I did! Like the paint roller lots.

lol - Love the pic and yes patience with watercolour is a challenge. I actually have to walk back upstairs and take a break from my art studio for each layer or I mess it up. [Good exercise though :)] Happy AEDM!
Stay inspired!

I love the paint roller...and all the colors.
It's hard to make the time each day to see all the wonderful works.

Great Job.

I'd say you're lucky the colours ran because it looks great, but what do I know? I don't paint! Still, I think it's a wonderful piece.

Why I can't work in watercolor: patience. Funny that I have no problem doing beadwork - I guess untangling thread isn't the same thing as waiting patiently. ;] Love this piece - think you handled the medium very well! (despite what you say)

Patience (and a hairdryer) work wonders. I am thrilled you decided to go with the flow. Works beautifully, here.

A good note to self, but happy accidents are often the ones that offer the big strides forward. Lovely sketch.
