Melbourne City Sketch

Melbourne, Australia

My friend Sue and I catch up every week to draw. We were out drawing a few days ago, when it was extremely hot and humid. I could barely function due to hay fever. We found a patch of grass to sit, and tree to lean on. I was facing the city and I drew what was in front of me. The process seemed to take forever. This was the only drawing I managed that afternoon. I cycled home for a hay fever tablet and the comforts of home. The colours were added at home.

that's a great habit and I think your painting is pretty darn good, considering the non-functioning.

Wonderful detail! Love that you did this while not feeling well - what can you do when you're perfectly fine!?
Thanks for your comments on my blogs!

Dear Evelyn,
The work is wonderful. But please take care. Give yourself plenty of indulgences.
Cheers, Sadami

Very nice! I can't wait to see what you do when you're feeling good if this is what you do when you're under the weather!

I love Melbourne but the weather can be testing.

Spring used to be my favorite season until hayfever snuck up on me, too! But I think your drawing is lovely! There are so many different types of architecture in the skyline :-D

That's a lovely sketch, Evelyn... and I can just imagine you leaning against the tree and sniffling while you draw. No fun really, and I hope by now you're over the hay fever. I always shocks me when I visit and see another week has gone by. So now I go catch up...
