Ice Skating in Melbourne on my birthday

Today is my birthday.

My husband and I went to see the movie The King's Speech, which we both enjoyed very much. Have you seen it? It's quite funny, and very entertaining.

Later, we went ice skating, where I took this photo. Ice skating is not something we do often, in fact, we have both only done it twice in our lives, the first time when we were both teenagers (separately that is, since I did not know him then). Today is the 2nd time for us both. Since both of us are comfortable on roller blades, we did not find it too difficult but it was fun, nonetheless.

After lunch at one of our favourite Malaysian cafes, we went home to put our feet up a little. In the evening, we played tennis and had nibbles and drinks with friends.

It has been a really fun-filled day full of activities.Gotta pack those celebrations in since birthdays come around only once a year... actually we tend to stretch ours to birthweeks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Evelyn!! Best wishes for a great day, year and many many more.

Celebrating by doing new and unusual things...what a great idea!! (My birthday is soon too - I may have to think of some new or unusual things to do! One year I tried scuba diving but I was on a Caribbean Island that day!)

Hope you pack in even more!

Happy Birthday Evelyn. What a wonderful thing to be able to ice skate on your birthday. The King's Speech is on our to do list as well. Promos look very interesting--plus I love all that Royal Family life style stuff. Saw the Queen twice. Sounds like a good day. Best wishes for many more.

«Louis» et Mme la Vache are planning to see "The Kings Speech" as it is showing at a nearby theater. They've heard it is quite good.

Best wishes to you for your birthday!

Happy Birthday for Thursday. Glad you had an action packed day. I want to see that movie but we are waiting until the kids go back to school so we can have some peace and quiet at the movies. I hope it is still showing then.

@Pavinee: Thanks :). Love the tag "Stylish".

@Diane b: Yep, I know what you mean but I doubt you'd get many kids at that movie. Not quite a show kids will enjoy I think.

The little boy blue is not so little, he is my 14 year old son and he is taller than me.

It was after we had to walk on a lot of volcanic rocks, and I was far behind.

They were waiting for me, and he was squatting there resting while waiting for me.

The cows came so near to him.

This is another place where I showed you the sheep.

It's summer, and we want to make the best use of our holidays. So we have been out almost every alternate day. In winter, I usually hibernate and don't go out.

I don't go ice skating. 30 years ago, I went anc clung on to the rails, so I stopped going.
