Ponds

Colourful leaves reflection © Evelyn Howard 2011

I can’t decide if I like this picture or not. It’s not crisp… but I like the colours.

The bigger picture - I love the huge leaves floating on the surface of the water… Seems peaceful but there is busy freeway just behind those the plants at the top of the photo. Its’ wall is reflected on the water. These photos were taken just outside the city of Kuala Lumpur.

Here are some heart shaped leaves for Valentine’s Day. Hope you all had a nice Valentine’s Day. This photo was taken in Hainan Island, China.

They are huge lily pads.

I like the colors too even though the left Leaf(?) isn't sharp--good abstract painting material. The huge lily pad is the best photograph--but you know that. You are really making me think I've got to get over there. If anyone has made me sad I had to cancel that trip it's you. Your photographs have been wonderful.

I like the spikes and colors of the first one. You don't realize how big they are until you see the second one though!

@ Linda: Please forgive ne for making you feel sad (!). I hope you will one day explore this area :)

I agree the colours are great in the first shot! Something more to work at, the next time you visit the ponds! I am so impressed with the size of those leaves!

I can't get over how big those leaves are. Are those lily pads? And I think the first shot is sharp. The main focus is just in the upper right corner. If you cropped it it would bring more attention to it. And the colors ARE great. :-)

Absolutely lovely pictures...I liked how you zoomed you with each successive pic!

And I had no clue the leaves look like this so close :)

From my view, the first image has a lot going on... organic yet geometric, soft yet hard, lines and colors and reflections... I like it. But maybe a tad sharper would have helped. Those large lily pads are amazing... too bad a frog did not oblige with a smile, :-D And water lilies are always a pleasure to look at.

Lovely water lilies! I don't think I have ever seen any of these varieties in water gardens here in Canada.

I do like the first shot! ;-)

Wonderful! My eyes couldn't help looking for frogs. :) The first one is in focus enough to entertain the eye, I like it.
