The dumpling seller

Dumpling Seller © Evelyn Howard 2011
Evelyn Howard, Acrylics, 12 x 16"

I am remembering the wonderful dumplings we had for breakfast and lunch in China. Yummy, hot, steamy, meaty, satisfying, delicious dumplings.

Not my best painting, but I am enjoying the process, and learning a lot. I plan to upload my work at least once a week, so hopefully over time I will be able to see some improvements….

I love how the steam is rising! Makes me crave a dumpling or two. I really like this painting, Evelyn :-D

Oh, I think it's a wonderful painting! Such an unexpected subject, too.

Are you kidding. The painting looks wonderful. How can you say that when I'm struggling with these acrylics everyday and here you are an expert. Forget being humble.

You've nothing to apologize for with this painting, Evelyn - it really captures the essence of the child with the dumplings. Delightful!

You my not think this is your best, Evelyn, but I think you've really captured the essence of the jiaozi steamer. Especially how she has no butt! :-D I'm enjoying all your sketches... the bicyclist against the red background is super too... I'm racing through old posts, not enough time for blogging these days. Greetings from Bucharest!
