In China, the locals celebrated Dragon Boat Festival last Monday (6/6) . Everyone ate Zongzi. Zongzi is rice, wrapped and cooked in bamboo leaf. While at dinner last Monday, the restaurant served us complimentary Zongzi. This was a sweet version with red dates. They also gave us sugar, in case we preferred it to be even sweeter.
I like Zongzi. My Mom makes the best ones – rice with pork cooked in soy sauce, salted egg, chick peas, candle nuts and rice. Yummylicious!
Did you have Zongzi last week?

Hi, Evelyn,
Ohhh~~! What vivid colours and nice sketch(yum)! Me,too, love "Zongzi." But I've never tried a sweet one. Your mom is a genius for cooking.
Cheers, Sadami
I'm sure the ones your mom prepares are great!
I love your art. :)
They look and sound delicious Evelyn! I should love to try them one day.
I had some. I like some of them, but all kinds.
Will share some photos soon.
Have a nice cool Tuesday!

Sounds very cool. I've never heard of these!
Mmm! Sounds delicious! Also looks delicious in your drawing, too. I imagine part of it is the fun of unwrapping the zongzi :D
I've never heard of these either, but they do sound yummylicious--and look yummylicious also.
I also like your shoe drawing down below. It caught my eye cuz I feel a shoe drawing coming up myself.
You're very good artist, Evelyn! I love your work! :)
Great artwork :)
Can you believe that with 26 years in Asia I have never seen the dragon boat races? Last year we managed to get to a site in HK just as they were over. :-D But of course zongzi are delicious, and so is your sketch.
