Bags

Baggage Line © Evelyn Howard 2011

Hope you are having a good start to the week. Here’s another piece for my Sketchbook Project. This is based on an earlier work, which I completed a few years ago (below).

Baggage © Evelyn Howard 2011

The earlier work consisted 400 plus ceramic sculptures. Here they are… each one is different, each one unique. These sculptures are small (each is about 3-4 inches).

The same work shown in an exhibition.

I love how you have drawn their different shapes and sizes as they travel and wind their way through the countryside.

This reminded me of Ai Wei Wei's sunflower seeds.

Wow Evelyn!! What a great concept and amazing exhibit! So large too - was it in a museum/public art gallery?

Awesome.

And very creative sketchbook project page.

Love love love your piece for the Sketchbook Project. The red bags show up great on the green countryside. And all those tiny bags in the exhibit are incredible!

Thanks everyone for your response.

- Eva : Thanks. I had shown them in a few public galleries. It was back then, when I was actively doing art wotk. Unfortunately that was some time ago, and graphic design work got in the way. But I hope to be actively involved again soon.

Wow, Evelyn, this looks great, what a lot, that makes it impressive. Also like the traveling bags on a journey :-)

Your bags across the landscape remind «Louis» of one of Christo's installations - but «Louis» likes your idea better.
;-D

Hi Evelyn, not commenting much lately but still watching your amazing adventures. BTW I remember seeing your installation in a newspaper (?) at the time, it made an impression on me. Seems like whatever you do is successful.

Origa-me - Carole, you mean the small country papers? Haha, didn't know anyone would have noticed. Thanks for the feedback!

These works of art are simply amazing, Evelyn. I love the sculptures and cannot imagine how much time and energy went into their creation.

And the new art work based on them is beautiful with the red suitcases marching toward the horizon. Faye
