Acrylics on canvas paper, 8.27 x 11.69 inches
How’s your week? I have had a very busy week, and the painting that I started this week is still sitting on the easel. The above was completed last week. Maybe you remember the bird from my last post, but the idea is evolving and I am rather excited about it…
Today, I am sharing some photos taken in Alameda, which is located in the heart of San Francisco Bay.
We took a bus there, then looked around on foot. I love their waterways…
It was a long walk but we had fun. I love the autumn colours.
As you can see, there are some nice residential areas here.
Some photos for Weekend Reflections.

The first shot is tunning Evelyn! I also like your creative woman/bird! ;-)
Interesting piece of art. It is nice to see that part of San Francisco. I love the low clouds in the first shot.

@Ann,
Thanks. It's been a few years since I had an exhibition and sold my art (my job as a graphic designer got in the way!)' but I am focussing more on my it now... With my move to California, I am reassessing my options :D.
@Thanks everyone for dropping by.
You got some fine shots of Alameda, one of «Louis'» favorite cities in the Bay Area. The WWII-era aircraft carrier U.S.S. Hornet is at Alameda and is open for tours. Hornet plucked the first Apollo space capsule and astronauts from the sea when that Apollo returned. You can visit the space capsule on the hanger deck of the ship. From the fantail at the stern of Hornet, you get a fine view of San Francisco.
Hey Louis,
I agree, it's such a lovely place!!
Gorgeous art and beautiful photos too Evelyn. I love the perspective in the first one and the framing in the last one.
Thanks for your comment. People did ask me to confront them up front, but as you say, not the Asian way.
I haven't seen the first person for 30 years. The second is still in my city, but I didn't she avoids me because she owes me a lot of money.
Your acrylic painting is mythical. Fab. And I'm happy to walk around anywhere with water, this place is no exception. Nice reflections!
Lovely painting of your bird woman ~ Great photos! ~ ~ thanks, namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) Happy PPF
I'm enjoying your bird woman painting a lot. A very powerful image and remind me of ancient myth and legend. Great work!
Hope the move to States will enable you to pursue your personal art dream. Go for it!
Looking forward to more of your art work. :)
I LOVE that photo of the beach! Looks wonderful! And can't wait to see how your painting turns out! Very interesting :D
Wow your painting is awesome, I LOVE the concept! I'll have to check out Alameda, only a couple hours from me and I've never been there!
Incredible painting! I love it, what a terrific concept. And beautiful photos too. They'll make great references for paintings...
Interesting image of supernatural being, a bird-woman.
How would it be if I could ride on the carpet of clouds like in the first image? Alameda is such a beautiful waterfront. It must be wonderful to have a house in that posh residential area.
Lovely bird projects and also lovely scene of Alameda!
Hi Evelyn! Thanks for dropping by. Yes, I have a new photo. It's my just-after-haircut photo, and I will soon look my usual scruffy self again. ;p
