I say plein air, but actually I was in a restaurant looking out across the water. It was freezing cold, and I was very glad to be indoors. Excuse the distortion (bad camera angle!), but then my drawing is distorted anyway!
More distortion. For this drawing, I was sitting in the cold outdoors with a friend. Brr…
My friend, Eveline was nice and warm in her “Michelin” jacket.
A reward afterwards. Mulled wine and cake in a warm coffee shop.

these are such lovely delicate sketches - I love your style and I'm intrigued to know where you live that you need 'michelin' jackets right now! I love the mulled wine though - makes me long for winter!
beautiful sketches as usual Evelyn!
Your sketches are great. I especially like the black and white street scene. Happy PPF
Great artwork, my favorite is the last one, now I want cake!
I don't know how you sketch in the cold... I find my fingers do odd things and it is even cold in Brisbane at the moment!!!! love the first and the mulled wine sketch is fab!!!
Thanks everyone for dropping by.
> Tracey,
Sometimes I get lost in the moment, and when I finish the piece, I find myself shaking from cold. Unfortunately, by then it's a bit too late, and I will have to rush indoors!
Happy Weekend, Ev
what fabulous drawings -more than mere sketches - and I agree it's awful brave of you to paint in the cold!! That coat looks nice and warm though!
These are all wonderful! I have always loved the look of ink drawings, watercolored--
Hi, Evelyn! I got unable to access your blog via Explore, so I tried Google Chrome, and now here I am. It’s nice to see lovely profile photo of yours. I’m braving scorching and sweltering weather. Your sketches are fantastic as always.

Hello Stardust
Thanks for dropping by, and for the feedback. Hope you are coping with the heat. Take care, Evelyn.
Love your drawings, especially the bottom one. I love the shading and line work. The fork is delicious! :)
Thanks Natasha.
How did you get your fingers to work wonders when you were so cold?
