Beijing Skies

Beijing Spring Blooms © Evelyn Howard 2011

We have been in Beijing for about 2 weeks. This week, we see lovely spring blooms.

Beijing sky is usually hazy. We don’t often see blue skies.

A week ago, the trees were a bit different…

This is another photo from a week ago. This is a more typical Beijing sky. Soon, this street will look quite green.  I am imagining a canopy of fresh green leaves above.

Happy Weekend.

You're in Beijing! Great! That's an awesome blue sky you have there... it's normally so hazy, as you say. Glad you get to see the signs of spring.

great perspective in the last shot. Are there no cars in that street?

@diane: good point. It's a uni district and many roads are not open to the general public so it tends to be quite quiet.

Your photos give me hope. Our trees are looking a lot like the trees in Beijing a week ago. I need more signs of spring than a single crocus the deer overlooked. Your flowers have lifted my spirits. Beijing is just 21 hours away. How long could it take the season to arrive here?

My image of big cities in China is a lot of fogginess, too. The sky is gorgeous in your photos though! The flowers must have wanted you to take pics ;D

Hope you have a happy weekend in Beijing!
