Staying healthy in Beijing

Beijing Tai Chi © Evelyn Howard 2011

It’s quite nice to watch this large group of students rehearsing the Tai Chi.

The slow movements are quite therapeutic… but when someone fails to keep up, it is quite obvious from our 9th floor r0om.

There are usually lots of groups here playing, but in the early morning, it is rather quiet.

Tofu for breakfast © Evelyn Howard 2011

Tofu topped with coriander and a savoury gravy must be a healthy breakfast… an acquired taste, I think… I enjoyed it.

Don’t like sloppy food like tofu? Locals love dumplings.

Strawberries are very sweet at the moment…

Need more excitement? Go the the Great Wall and walk… More pictures later!

Hope you are having a nice week.

Oooh... this feels like home. I must be a little homesick. I've always wanted to capture a group of elders doing Taijiquan in a park early in the morning, but I'm so seldom up and about early! :-D Warm tofu in sweet syrup and fresh jiaozi, YUM! And I see you were on the Wanli Changcheng with the trees in bloom, wonderful, with cooler weather!

[I'm still in Austria. Next Tuesday I return to Bucharest where I'll work until end-June. Long trip is right. Am enjoying the good life mostly ;-) but miss my honey; our longest separation in 26 years!]

Great photos! Im going on a school trip to the Great Wall this weekend. Yippee. But the weather is a bit colder, isn't it?

I plan to visit Beijing for May holidays. Will drop you a line if you are in BJ.

Stay warm

Thanks for the peep at goings on in Beijing. I would love to walk on the wall and eat dumplings but not tofu.
