Outdoor Sketches

Hope you had a nice weekend.

Beijing building © Evelyn Howard 2011

Last week, when I was out drawing, I realised how some trees in Beijing are different from what I see back home.

Here’s a better example. The leaves are very stiff and grows above the branches.

On another day, a found a nice seat just opposite Building 4. Not much of a view but I found the electrical cables interesting.

And on another day… I wanted to play and see if I can capture sunset over some buildings.

Ah, what fun!

Hope you have a fantastic week.

Oh, Evelyn,
All sketches are beautiful and very interesting. Especially your colour use is so vivid. I feel I am looking at them with you. Yes, let us have fun together.
Cheers, Sadami

I love the last one Evelyn. How long does it take you to draw something like that?

Love the detail and gentle colours.

I find the electrical cables fascinating too--and the trees with their heavenly arrangement of greenery looking up at the sky. Nice that everywhere we look we see something beautiful to draw.

Hi Kala
I am not sure and it makes me wonder. How long was I actually sitting there for?? I should time myself. When I finished the drawing, it seemed pretty boring, so I let it sit for a few days before I thought of colouring.

Thanks, I should pay more attention on how much time I spend.

Cheers, Ev

The trees look familiar, I think we have them here! The sunset is lovely...the soft gradation of the sky is perfect :D

How long are you there?
