Purple beauty (Conservatory of Flowers, San Francisco)

Lotuses and waterlilies © Evelyn Howard 2011

I mean the flowers, and not the man (although it’s very kind of him to wear purple for my photo :D )

Happy Watery Wednesday.

> Sadami, Yeah, it's been almost a year since I was there. Such a nice place :)

Knock out water lilies! Knock out photograph. I like the size of the leaves and the flowers played against the much smaller size of the photographer.

Thanks for the visit.

> Hi Linda
Thanks for the comment. I must admit it was not something that I thought about or planned. It was so crowded that whenever I stopped to plan a shot, there will be 2 others waiting to stand on my spot to take pictures!

I like this photo for the color and lovely reflection. Water lilies come in various colors, and I like purple or blue ones. Why in the glasshouse? Are they tropical water lilies?

You are so skilled in art and photography. love the colour, composition and reflection.

Hi Stardust
Thanks. It was in the aquatic section of the conservatory. I guess they must be tropical, because it was warm in there.

Hi Diane

I love water lilies, springtime is coming and all the lakes in the botanic garden will become full of them!
You captured a beautiful reflection.
Have a good weekend Evelyn! ;-)

The flowers and the tall leaves are lovely! I thought for sure you coordinated that purple-purple look! ;D

> Thanks Lucia. I love them too. I don't see them often, so whenever I do, it's such a treat.

> Kaori
Haha, there wasn't enough room that day to coordinate anything. It was very crowded, probably because it was free admission that day.

What a beautiful flowers! It would be nice to see the mans photo too. Maybe he took you in a purple t-shirt :-)

> Nelleke
Oh no, I sure hope not! Haha, I didn't think of that! I was in fact wearing blue and black, but who knows, could be purple under the lights.
