Remember this design on my business card? It was an illustration which was originally made for a t-shirt and a hoodie. The design portrays many twisty highways in the rapidly developing city of Kuala Lumpur, plus the buildings in the city.
It’s been quite popular, and I have sold a few on Redbubble. If you are keen to try designing your own t-shirts to sell, do check it out.
During my absence from blogger land, I have been thinking about the content of this site. Future posts will be about creative activities. I am also redesigning, and you may have noticed some changes already.
I would like to share a T-shirt design, which was completed recently for a client. The entire design was created in Adobe Illustrator.

I am pleased to report that it was very well received.
After completing the Wiggly Brown Germs design, I wanted a more uplifting colour so I made a different version in red…

I’ve just completed this new T-shirt design titled “Wiggly Brown Germs” based on IF’s theme for the week. Some germs look non-threatening, while others are mildly irritating….

My friend Dina is running an event to raise funds for Women’s Cancer Research. I am submitting this T-shirt for auction.
She has also asked for some promotional materials, and I have decided to make some sweet little tags in a few colours – a close-up of one of the tags is shown below. Hopefully the T-shirt will be auctioned off at a sizable $$$ for a charitable cause.

It's been really relaxing to be able to have the space in my mind to doodle... and I managed to complete a few pieces recently.
Here is a scan from a page of my sketchbook (right); a piece completed in pencil. I admired it and liked the drawing, but I asked myself, "now what?" It's such a bad thing to do, because I had had a nice time drawing. It's like having gone to a movie which we enjoyed, and then asking ourselves what we do now that we know what the movie is all about. Like... do we need to do anything?
Well, of course it gives us an opportunity to brag to or discuss with others. So even though I had a nice time drawing it, I decided to take to opportunity to do something else with it. And here's what it became... a piece of digital work, drawn in Adobe Illustrator! And then...
... I uploaded it to be printed on T-shirts. The T-shirts are 100% cotton. I've bought a few and they are very very very comfy. There are 10 glorious colours.... Click on any of the T-shirt below for more info.

This is a new T-shirt design that I've just uploaded, depicting the city of Kuala Lumpur. It's actually a response to a contest with the theme "Your hometown".
Whist I now live in Melbourne, I have lived in Kuala Lumpur for a number of years. In this illustration, I have depicted it to be a city of fantastic and interesting architecture and loads of motorways. It’s developing so quickly that for me, it’s an ever changing place…
I am also trying out a different illustration style to what I normally use. Hope you like it.
A few years ago, the focus of my art had been on identity (or the loss of), and social structure. This piece of work is developed based on the above line of inquiry.
I decided to use Japanese patterns on the face, but ended up with 2 versions, see below. I love this new development (of my art) so much that I ordered the T-shirt in red (below left) for myself :).
