A few bridges in Busan, South Korea for Sunday Bridges
You have seen some foggy photos of Busan before. Here’s another – the bridge is hardly visible.

More fog. I love this bridge full of flowers (yes, I have posted this photo before).
Just a few photos of this palace in Seoul, which dates back to 1104. This palace is registered on UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List.
Lovely colourful details.
Takes a number of people to maintain the palace. These workers were seen pulling out grass between the stones on the ground.

There are lots of vast open spaces but lots of trees around the perimeter.

Changgyeonggung Botanical Garden is attached to the palace, but we did not visit. Due to the unbearable heat, and that it would only be opened in 2 hours, we decided to skip it. But I have been researching it; it is a beautiful place and I would have loved it… :(
Anyway, hope you enjoyed my World (a few months ago, that is).
We left Beomeosa Temple and hiked up Geumjeong Mountain.
The path was established so it was not a difficult hike. It was beautiful and lush.
At the beginning of the track, the rocks were partly covered by water.
It was mostly rocks later…
and steps going up and up. This mountain is Busan’s most popular hiking destination. We came across many locals going up with hiking gear and supplies… We were getting worried as we were in shorts, t-shirts and “city” walking shoes. We had no food nor water…
There was not a lot of flowers but I saw this Chinese Astibe
After a while (an hour maybe), we reached an opening. There was a group of people singing and having fun. We watch them for a little while…
It was very misty and quite beautiful. But sometimes we could only see about 5 feet in front of us.
I hope you have enjoyed the photos. The peak is is 801.5 meters/2629 feet, but I am afraid this is as far as we went.
Not many people were going beyond this point and we were not able to read the signs (in Korean) to know which direction to go for sure!
So we decided that was as far as we were going.
When we reached the town at the foothill, it was lunch time.
We were glad to find a restaurant to relax for a little while. The main meal came with pickles on the side… including kimchi (fermented vegetables, usually cabbage).
We ordered quite randomly by pointing at photos. The dish on the left is rice and on the right is noodles. My husband enjoyed his rice dish, but I found my noodles too sweet. It was not the best meal I have had, but it was all part of the experience of travelling :).
It was a fun day out.
In the background, Geumjeong Mountain is covered by mist. This mountain is a very popular hiking destination – more on this soon. Let’s look around the temple now…
There are a number of buildings and objects classified as official treasures. This stone lamp and the pagoda further behind are two of them.

And a spoon on a door to end… I don’t know why it was there, but it made an interesting photo.

This satellite tower is on Namsan Mountain, located in central Seoul. I love this sculpture.
We came up via cable car in the afternoon. That gave us enough time to look around the mountain before settling down to take in the sunset.
We found a great spot to view the light change over the city…
while eating Pajeon or Korean style pancakes. It went really well with beer.
As the day became night, it was nice to see the city lights come on… This shot was taken from our cable car as we left the mountain.
This is an interesting deck at the base of the tower. We had time to look around before sunset.
There were lots of padlocks and love notes…
So many padlocks that we can’t quite see through the railing anymore…

Here’s a lady behind one of those impressive sunshades enjoying the beach. The sunshades seems very effective… Btw, I saw a documentary about the ideal Korean beauty. She has milky white skin…

Great chairs – they are artistic and functional. My husband looks comfortable sitting there, don’t you agree?
